Untitled (Low Tide 73)
A Corvette rests at low tide in Saint-Malo, suspended between land and sea. The scene feels familiar, as if it had already existed somewhere — in a forgotten album, in a memory that isn’t entirely ours.
The date — 1973 — is a suggestion rather than a fact. The image hovers between decades, between presence and recollection. It could be a photograph taken yesterday. It could be one rediscovered after fifty years.
Like every piece in Shoebox 70, this work is less about the event itself than about the fragile persistence of memory — how certain images stay with us, softened by time, long after the moment has passed.
