Untitled (Last Tram, 1972)
In Port de Sóller, an old tram glides along the waterfront, carrying with it the quiet weight of another time. The scene feels instantly familiar, as if it belonged to a place we remember without ever having truly known.
The image does not try to document a precise moment so much as evoke one. It sits somewhere between travel and memory, between observation and imagination. It could be a photograph made today. It could just as easily be something rediscovered in a shoebox decades later.
Like every piece in Shoebox 70, this work is less about the subject itself than about the strange persistence of nostalgia — the way certain images seem to outlive their own moment, softened by time and suspended in feeling.
